Balancing Multi-Sport Seasons
Multi-sport athletes thrive when they plan their schedule and recovery instead of just surviving it.
Playing multiple sports can build better overall athletes, reduce burnout, and keep sports fun. The challenge is managing overlapping seasons so athletes do not break down from constant stress and no recovery.
Communication and planning are the keys. Coaches and athletes need to be honest about game schedules, practice loads, and recovery windows.
Multi-sport survival tips:
- Use one calendar for all practices and games
- Tell coaches about schedule conflicts early
- Protect at least one lighter day each week
- Make sleep and nutrition non-negotiable
